Canadian Western Agribition Animal Welfare Policy

TREATMENT OF ANIMALS:

CWA reserves the right to remove from its premises any animal and ban any person who fails to conform to acceptable standards of public health and safety, animal welfare, animal disease prevention and biosecurity, such standards to be determined by CWA.

Abuse of an animal in any form will not be tolerated.  Any violation will result in immediate expulsion of the exhibitor followed by further disciplinary action as determined by the Disciplinary Committee.

CWA adheres to the National Code of Show Ring Ethics.

PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE AND DRUG TESTING:

CWA reserves the right to test any animal for drugs or other substances not approved for use in animals in accordance with the Food and Drug Act and its regulations.

Exhibitors who violate the rules will be immediately disqualified and banned from future competition at CWA.   All prizes will be forfeited.
