CWA Celebrating Women in Agriculture Award


A gap in the market currently exists in relation to recognizing women in agriculture on a national level. The industry today would not be where it is today without the hard work and dedication of women across the value chain from primary production to marketing a product in a retail location. As one of Canada's largest agricultural events, Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) would like to create and promote the premier award for recognizing the outstanding acheivement of women in the agriculture industry from across Canada.

Selection Criteria

Open to all Canadian women currently involved in agriculture, Canadian Western Agribition and their community.

Nomination Process

Nomination packages must include:

  1. A typed profile, not to exceed 2,000 characters, describing the agricultural work of the nominee, involvement at Canadian Western Agribition and in their community.
  2. Two nominators, providing letters of recommendation (not to exceed one page each) and contact information.
  3. The nominees contact information.

Selection and Prize Distribution

The winner will be selected by an appointed committee of Canadian Western Agribition representatives by the Board of Directors as well as representatives of the Sponsor. The winner will be a guest of honour at the Premier's Reception and will be awarded jointly by the President of Canadian Western Agribition and a representative of the Sponsor at an executive level.
