CWA introduces new Board of Directors

Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) introduced a new leadership team at its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, April 6 with the election of its new President, Executive, and Board of Directors.

Bruce Holmquist of Saskatoon, SK is the newly elected CWA President. Bruce has been involved with CWA for 40 years in a number of different capacities. He joined the CWA Board of Directors in 2007 and became an Executive member in 2012. He has been involved in numerous committees as a volunteer or chair including Rodeo, RBC Beef Supreme, Beef Cattle, Animal Health, High School Rodeo, and Prospect Steer and Heifer. Bruce is currently the General Manager of the Canadian Simmental Association (CSA). He has been a Simmental breeder and a member of the CSA since 1977 and operates a farm with his family at Kinistino, SK.

Members of CWA elected the following representatives to the Board of Directors to serve a two year term:

  • Curtis Kuchinka – Regina, SK
  • Michael Latimer – Calgary, AB
  • Courtney MacDougall – Regina, SK
  • Blake MacMillan – Nokomis, SK
  • Barry Young – Carievale, SK

Directors serving the second of their two year term are:

  • Doug Fee – De Winton, AB
  • Kim Hextall – Grenfell, SK
  • Levi Jackson – Sedley, SK
  • Marty Kratochvil – Milden, SK
  • Chris Lees – Arcola, SK
  • Ross Macdonald – Lake Alma, SK
  • Bryce Thompson – Regina, SK

Appointed Directors include: Jerry Flegel (City of Regina), Deborah Niekamp (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada), Kim Onrait (City of Regina), and Grant Zalinko (Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture).
