Canadian Western Agribition Scholarship & Awards Program

Canadian Western Agribition offers scholarships and awards to provide financial support and incentive to students in order to pursue post secondary and graduate education.

 

Canadian Western Agribition Scholarship

The Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) Scholarship program is intended to provide financial support and incentive to young people in order to pursue post-secondary and graduate education. The funding for the scholarship program is derived from a variety of CWA activities, as well as from recognized outside contributions. The number of scholarships awarded in any year is dependent upon the financial resources available to the program, and the number of qualified applications submitted.
Conditions:
  1. Applicants must be passionate about Agriculture and have participated in CWA. Participation in CWA includes, but is not limited to, all livestock classes, 4-H classes, and active trade exhibit participation.
  2. The dollar value of each scholarship will be $2,500.
  3. The applicant must be in their second or subsequent year in a program of at least two years duration.
  4. Current CWA Board members and staff as well as their siblings, children, and grandchildren are not eligible for the CWA Scholarship.
  5. The scholarship shall be used at a recognized post-secondary and graduate educational institution.
  6. No applicant is eligible for more than two CWA scholarship awards in his/her academic career.
  7. Deadline for application is October 1.
  8. Successful scholarship candidates will be contacted directly by CWA by November 15.
  9. There is no age limit for the applicants.
  10. Upon selection being made by CWA, $2,500 will be awarded upon proof of academic standing at the end of the first semester. This payment will be disbursed to the applicant's educational institution.

Barry Andrew Family Award

The Barry Andrew Family Award program is intended to provide financial support and incentive to a student registered in an Agriculture program in order pursue post-secondary and graduate education. The funding for the award program was bequeathed by the late Barry Andrew. One award will be presented each year if qualified applicants are submitted. The award may not be granted every year.
Conditions:
  1. Applicants must be passionate about Agriculture and have participated in CWA. Participation in CWA includes, but is not limited to, all livestock classes, 4-H classes, and active trade exhibit participation.
  2. Students must be enrolled in an Agriculture related program in a post-secondary educational institution.
  3. The dollar value of each will be $1,500.
  4. The applicant must be in their second or subsequent year in a program of at least two years duration.
  5. The award shall be used at a recognized post-secondary and graduate educational institution.
  6. No applicant is eligible for more than one Barry Andrew Family Award in his/her academic career.
  7. Deadline for applications is October 1.

William M Farley Memorial Award

The William M Farley Memorial Award program is intended to provide financial support and incentive to a student in order to pursue post-secondary and graduate education. The funding for the award program was donated by Lillie R Farley. One award will be presented each year if qualified applicants are submitted. The award may not be awarded every year.
Conditions:
  1. Applicants must be passionate about Agriculture and have participated in CWA as a participant themselves or with their family. Participation in CWA includes, but is not limited to, all livestock classes, 4-H classes, and active trade exhibit participation. Students are also eligible if they have been registered volunteers for the show or if their parents have been registered volunteers.
  2. Students must be enrolled in any academic program in a post-secondary educational institution.
  3. The dollar value of each scholarship will be $1,500.
  4. The applicant must be in their second or subsequent year in a program of at least two years duration.
  5. The award shall be used at a recognized post-secondary and graduate educational institution.
  6. No applicant is eligible for more than one William M Farley Memorial Award in his/her academic career.
  7. Application deadline is October 1.
  8. Successful candidates will be contacted directly by CWA by November 15.
  9. There is no age limit for the applicants.
